Tripcase – Travel Organizer Review. The Best Companion for Frequent Travelers

Tripcase provides you tools to manage all your travel plans, car reservations, flight itineraries and hotel bookings in a single app. This iOS and Android app is the perfect travel companion, personal assistant and diary all wrapped in one.

The UI on both IPA and APK version is sleek but isn’t too easy to navigate around, and it might look slightly cluttered on devices with smaller screens. Clicking on each trip will populate your screen with details of that trip which you’d get on a booking ticket such as airline, receipt code, arrival and departure time, itinerary details such as your hotels, travel plans, taxi, etc. You can also view a map of your travel area.

Interface score: 6/10

Key Features

The Tripcase app streamlines your travel itineraries right on your iPhone, iPad iPod Touch or Google Android, through picking up information from travel emails that you forward to it. Most travel confirmation emails contain a lot of unnecessary information that you might not understand. This app helps you make sense of that information although it doesn’t pick up it automatically. Tripcase sorts out all your information such as car rental information, flight numbers, departure and arrival times, hotel reservations and taxi info.

You can share your travel plans and itinerary with your friends and colleagues too, add a new trip in the course of your travels, mark out cool locations and set reminders, alerts and push notifications so that you never get delayed.

Tripcase your entire travel plans in chronological order, and it offers a manual fix for incorrect details. With new updates, the UI is much friendlier, and the tiles are better organized. You can also see a log of any changes to your initial travel itinerary via the new Changelog feature.

Both the App Store and Google Play apps for travel organization are free, but they do offer in-app purchases at $5.99 monthly subscription with a one-month free trial. This is an app for all Android devices (the APK runs on Android 4.4 or higher) and iOS gadgets (running 9.0 or later).

Features score: 8/10

It took a bit of time to get used to the interface. You have to manually forward your confirmation emails to a Tripcase email, which should be automated in my view. The share feature is nice because you can let others know about your travel plans. Some of the info doesn’t pick up correctly such as the rental car info. Mapped directions in the iOS version also gave me wrong info at some point. The new features have improved a bit the UI, and you can also track changes in your plans.

User experience score: 7/10

The app developers keep it updated with various bug fixes since I downloaded it. The latest version offers a Tripcase Changelog with a new Receipt feature, new Tripcase Alexa Skill, and an improved notification center. The developers are trying to automate the app more which is great.

Bottom Line

Tripcase has its flaws but it is still a leader in the itinerary apps market, even better than TripIt in some areas. It works well on any iOS or Android mobile device and is extremely useful in solving a lot of the organizational problems travelers face. I’d definitely recommend the app.
